It's interesting you mention FB becoming the email application of choice for many people.

This morning my partner received some baby photos in her Yahoo account from her mate in Australia. She wanted to send photos of our baby return but noticed that she now has a Flickr account which she doesn't know how to use it.

Then, as a Windows user, she started to curse the Mac: "why is it so complicated?". Um, it isn't ;-)

When I looked into it I have to admit, the whole thing of Yahoo/Flickr is a total mess! Flickr is staring to look weak and boring in comparison to FB. I could see the potential for FB to solve her, and her friends' problems.

I set up a new Flickr account and was told I had to set up a Yahoo account (but, I don't want a Yahoo! account!!)

Anyway, I tried to explain that if she set up a FB account for both photos and sending emails/messages, her problem would be solved there and then.

You know what she said? But I don't want a FB account!

Oh well, I tried.
